Properties modification of materials surface
Key scientific achievements
A new scientific line “Directed modification of surface properties and materials surface layers in order to improve operational properties under the action of high-energy laser radiation and ion beams” was established.
Theoretical mechanisms for change of structure properties of materials surface layers were developed. Practical tools for selection of interaction modes leading to stable improvement of the tribological and corrosion properties of the modified materials were created.
Based on these theoretical and practical approach the unique facilities were developed and industrial versions of analytical instruments, ion and laser implanters were designed.
2 Doctors of Engineering and 12 Candidates of Science were prepared under the supervision of Prof. Nevolin.
He is an author and co-author of more than 120 scientific publications including 5 books and 16 inventions.
