Abstract

In this paper, a numerical study of controlling the electrical voltage on piezoelectric actuators to reduce the amplitude of structural vibrations at resonant frequencies has been carried out. A mathematical model has been developed for calculating the natural frequencies and vibration modes of a structure with a piezoelectric actuator and for calculating the coupling coefficients between the voltages on the piezoelectric actuator and the driving force, which effectively reduces the amplitude of structural vibrations. A nonlinear relationship has been identified between the coupling coefficients of force pairs and the voltage. The developed mathematical model was verified using samples equipped with piezoelectric actuators. The relative error in calculating the coupling coefficients between the analytical and numerical solutions does not exceed 5%, indicating sufficient accuracy. Based on the obtained FR results for the samples with the calculated coupling coefficient values, a significant reduction in the vibration amplitude at the first resonant frequency was achieved.
