Abstract

The article discusses the issues of forming the geometric appearance of unmanned aerial vehicles. An overview of the design methods of unmanned aerial vehicles is provided, methods of multidisciplinary optimization, genetic algorithms, differential evolution algorithms, particle swarm methods, CFD analysis, generative design and artificial intelligence methods are considered. Problems related to the accuracy of models at the early stages of designing unmanned aerial vehicles, high computational complexity and the need for experimental validation of automated solutions have been identified. The relevance of the parameterization stage and the description of the geometric appearance when using optimization methods based on numerical modeling is noted. A technique for the automated formation of a geometric description of unmanned aerial vehicles is proposed, and the stage of constructing the silhouette of the model and the shape of the airframe sections is considered in detail. The process of transformation of the sketch of the appearance of an unmanned aerial vehicle based on approximation by inhomogeneous rational B-splines is described. The advantage of the splines obtained by the proposed method is a smooth change in curvature along the length, which is difficult to achieve when constructing and modifying a spline by a designer in computer-aided design systems.
