Abstract
The paper considers directions for improving the efficiency of data visualization in integrated aircraft information and control systems. The focus is placed not only on the composition of modern indication means, but also on the analysis of principles of their application: information structuring, context adaptation, sensor integration and three-dimensional visualization jointly influence situational awareness and piloting accuracy. It is shown that the key factor of successful indication is managing pilot attention and reducing cognitive workload. A visualization efficiency criterion is proposed, taking into account information field density, structural ordering and operator reaction time. The results of the author’s experiments on a semi-natural modeling complex simulating a single-seat highly maneuverable aircraft are presented: a statistically significant reduction in reaction time and recognition errors was obtained when using adaptive algorithms. Promising directions for visualization development toward cognitively adaptive and intelligent interfaces are defined.
