Abstract

The work solves the urgent scientific problem of determining the navigation parameters of an orbital vehicle without using navigation information from external sources, that is, the task of autonomous navigation. Disclosed is a method of determining the location of an orbital facility based on a mathematical apparatus for interval analysis, the main application of which is solving applied problems with interval uncertainties and lack of reliable initial data. Results of measurements of angles between directions to the orbital means and two stars with known angular position in space and distance between the spacecraft and the orbital means are selected as sources of information necessary for solving the navigation task. To find the interval coordinates of the orbital means, a system of equations has been obtained that can be quickly solved by modern on-board computers. To estimate accuracy of solving the problem of determining coordinates of an orbital facility, a three-dimensional vector is proposed, each element of which is equal to the width of the interval of the corresponding coordinate.
An example of the implementation of the proposed method for determining the location of the orbital vehicle is given and the values of errors in determining the coordinates are obtained, the maximum value does not exceed 23.6 m in this formulation.
Proposed method can be used at the stage of substantiation of requirements for autonomous navigation systems of spacecraft and at development of onboard equipment intended for operative determination of OS of various purpose. The implementation of this method is of particular relevance for on-board control systems for unmanned vehicles for various purposes, the computing platforms of which are characterized by limited capabilities.
